Hello everybody!
This is just a quick little post to inspire you all to lead a healthier lifestyle because after all 'your health is your wealth'! I am by no means an expert on fitness or healthy eating but these are just a few things that I have changed about my lifestyle and have helped with my mental health and my physical health. Enjoy!
(1) My first tip is by far the most effective and that is to drink lots and lots of WATER! Before this I used to drink very little amounts of water per day, instead I would have had fizzy drinks and juices but little did I know how this was affecting my lifestyle. It is recommended that you drink about 2 litres of water every day, which let me tell you isn't easy and most days I still struggle to do this but I have found a method that works for me and it may be worth your while to give it a try aswell. This method is simply having a glass/bottle of water beside you wherever you are instead of fizzy drinks/juice. For example if I am sitting doing my homework I will have a glass of water beside me or if I am watching tv I will have a galss of water beside me, infact I have a glass beside me right now! By making this slight change in my everyday routine I have found that I can concentrate better in school and the condition of my skin has improved greatly. Drinking water is so simple yet so effective.
(2) My second tip is to eat healthy. Unfortunately I am not a fan of most vegetables so this step is difficult for me but I have managed to make it work. I have cut all fatty foods out of my diet and swapped them for a healthier alternative. Instead of eating chocolate or crisps I now eat fruit. I started eating sweet potato with most of my dinners and I have noticed that by cutting the fatty foods out of my diet I have more energy and I just feel better on a day to day basis.
(3) Finally, EXERCISE. Exercise is an essential part of leading a healthy lifestyle. I personally have always been a sporty person and have always enjoyed exercise so this step is a given for me. It is important to include some sort of activity in your daily/weekly routine, whether that be going for a walk with your dog or taking part in a running group. I will go to the gym 3-4 times every week for around an hour and a half to two hours each time. This gives me a chance to get away from my school work and everyday live for a little bit.
I hope you enjoyed this post and have gained some little tips to help you lead a healthier lifestyle. Some of you may have read this and said that these are all pretty obvious things but what may be clear for some may not be so obvious to others.
